Sandpoint, Idaho / Accessory Dwelling Unit / Built in 2024
Juxtaposing an existing modest and traditionally hipped roof residence, this accessory dwelling plays off the existing elements of the South Sandpoint neighborhood context while also striking out on it’s own. The form stands out while the siding blends in with the warm rusted harkening to the warmth of fresh cedar siding prevalent in the area. Almost as if the upper floor were transported here from an industrial ship yard, the upper level set back enough from the road so as not to draw too much attention while still having views of Baldy Mountain and the Sandpoint Festival.
